Business Hiring Expectations in Massachusetts
Hiring data is gathered through the semiannual Massachusetts Job Vacancy Survey
Participants in the survey are asked whether they plan to increase or decrease employment in the coming quarter and are given the following choice of responses: (1) Will definitely increase, (2) Will probably increase, (3) Will stay the same, (4) Will probably decrease, (5) Will definitely Decrease, or (6) Do not know.
Ten thousand businesses were contacted during the 2nd quarter of 2009, and approximately 7,800 responses were received. The data collected provides a picture of the hiring plans of Massachusetts businesses for the 3rd quarter of 2009.
