DUA's Research Library is a major repository of historical Massachusetts labor market data, some dating back to the 1940's.

The library contains the most detailed and extensive industry employment data series on all of the state's 351 cities and towns as well as aggregations for counties, metropolitan statistical areas and service delivery areas. This information is not available from any other source.

The library's historical data series include:

  • Covered Employment and Wages (ES-202) dating back to 1940;
  • Current Employment Statistics Surveys (CES) dating back to 1950; and
  • Local Area Unemployment Statistics Report, from 1975.

Current and recent data from these series can be accessed on-line from DUA's Economic Data home page.

The library also maintains print copies of DUA's statistical reports and research publications.

The Research Library is located in the Charles F. Hurley Building, Government Center, 19 Staniford Street - 2nd floor, Boston, MA 02114.
