Staffing Pattern Data by Area and Industry

The Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance has produced occupational employment and wage industry staffing pattern data for the Commonwealth and for the 16 Workforce Development Areas (WDA's). The May 2017 data are available.

To obtain a list of major industries that employ a specific occupation, please select the specific occupation from the drop-down menus below. The published data, in Excel format, includes the major industries that employ the occupation along with the occupation's employment figure and hourly and annual mean, median, entry and experienced wages.

How to use the Industry Staffing Pattern Data
Occupation Staffing Pattern Data

Beginning with the first quarter 2013, the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wage (QCEW) program moved employees in NAICS code 814110-Private Households (Out of scope in the OES Program) to Services for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities NAICS 624120. This caused a large increase in employment for Personal Care Aides, SOC code 39-9021 for the May 2017 publication data.
