Labor force and unemployment
data is estimated each month. Information is produced on labor force, employment,
unemployment, and unemployment rates for the United States, the Commonwealth and
for each Labor Market Area (LMA), Workforce Investment Area (WIA), City and Town,
and County in Massachusetts. Use the query tool below to obtain Labor Force and
Unemployment data by area and time period.
NOTE TO DATA USERS: As of March 5, 2009 the 2004 through 2008 Statewide series have been revised to reflect year-end revisions, methoological changes and updated seasonal adjustment factors. For 2009 estimates the previous month's data will be revised each month.
Sub-state estimates for 2008 will be available March 10, 2009
Labor force and unemployment data are based on a new methodology and redefined
to reflect the 2000 Census based geographic configurations.
