Massachusetts occupational employment and wage data are derived from the Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics program, a program operated in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics. The data are collected statewide and for seven Metropolitan New England City and Town Statistical Areas (NECTA's) and nine Divisions. In addition, the Department of Unemployment Assistance produces occupational employment and wages for the Commonwealth's 16 Workforce Development Areas (WDA's).
NOTE TO DATA USERS: As of March 30, 2018, the May 2017 survey data are available.
Beginning with the first quarter 2013, the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wage (QCEW) program moved employees in NAICS code 814110-Private Households (Out of scope in the OES Program) to Services for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities NAICS 624120. This caused a large increase in employment for Personal Care Aides, SOC code 39-9021 for the May 2017 publication data.
